OPHC Projects

Since 2020, OPHC (formally the Corona Corps) has developed a student workforce to combat COVID-19  other communicable diseases by providing education and connecting those affected with resources.  OPHC continues to take on new public health projects while expanding on current projects to meet our community’s along with others anticipated needs.  Below are some past and current projects OPHC has developed. If your organization is interested in working with OPHC on a future project, email OPHC@uoregon.edu

Project HELP: Deployed our call center that allowed students impacted by COVID-19 to rate their level of wellbeing and offer resources based on their level of need. This allowed OPHC to continuously track and monitor students who tested positive for COVID-19. Overall project HELP has allowed OPHC and the University of Oregon to continue assisting in cases as well as making students aware of available resources to them.

Clinic and Health Navigation: Assist with University Health Services (UHS) to assist students, staff, and faculty in navigating health care services and the UHS facility. This includes medical and counseling appointments, coordinating pharmacy needs, lab services, testing centers, and immunization compliance. OHPC also serves students in crisis, both with physical and mental/emotional support.

COVID-19 Bivalent Booster Clinic Support: Partnered with Lane County Public Health (LCPH) offering two 4-week clinics on campus during Fall Term 2022 to help get residents and students properly vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19. OPHC worked with nurses, assisted with queuing, paperwork, and general questions from the public. OPHC also helped promote the clinic around the University of Oregon campus to make students aware of the clinic.
